Last week, Profero announced it was opening an office in New York, terming the move to the US as the "last step towards building a global independent business". For a digital agency with offices across Europe, Asia and the Far East, it is no coincidence that it has left the US until last. Expansion into the US is often driven by client needs. Carl Johnson, a founding partner of Anomaly, says the US is too concerned with the highest echelons of corporate America to take an interest in new agencies. Unless you're doing something that is of interest to them or doing good work on clients people have heard of, no-one is going to come looking for you.
............

Tags - advertising agencies,market entry, , expansion

Gibbons has been asked to consider opening an office either in Shanghai or Beijing because clients are doing more business in Asia.\n Another element of contemporary patent law reflects the changing economy and revolves around the patenting of business methods, the subject of recent and pending federal court cases that are shaping intellectual property law. Comisky, the U.S. Patent Office held the inventor's method for conducting mandatory arbitration involving legal documents was not patentable, essentially finding that a business process that does not require the use or implementation of technology, but depends on steps of human intervention, can not be awarded a patent.
............

Tags - federal court decisions,intellectual property, , patents, , litigation, , technological , change

In co-ordination with the restructuring and upgrading of EU industry, China provides many products that the EU is or will no longer be producing. Such co-operation helps the EU to focus on high-end industries and further boosts its international competitiveness. There is also a huge demand from the Chinese market for EU products. In 2007, China imported Dollars 111bn worth of products from the EU, at a rate of growth of 22.4 per cent a year, faster by 6 percentage points than the growth rate of imports from the US and Japan. In the first quarter of this year, imports from the EU were almost Dollars 30bn, up by 25.6 per cent year-on-year. It is estimated that China's imports from the EU provide more than 2.2m jobs in member states. Against the backdrop of global inflation and resource shortages, high quality and low-priced Chinese products not only contribute to prosperity in the EU, but also help prevent inflation and improve living standards. While the EU has many concerns, the Chinese side is also confronted with difficulties: the EU's denial of market economy status to Chinese enterprises; the discriminatory treatment they receive in the EU; the EU's frequent anti-dumping investigations in textiles and steel; special safeguard measures targeting China; restrictions of technology exports; and the unfair treatment of Chinese enterprises for visas and display stands in conventions in the EU.
............

Tags - trust,china , trade , , , europe , trade,china europe economic relations,economic relations,china europe trade relations

Everyone in the supply chain seems to have a "China story" these days. Either they found dramatic savings and saved their company a boatload of cash, or they got burned by a fly-by-night supplier and vow never to source overseas again.
